The Burnt Offering

FOR THE LOVE OF THE MANKIND

THE BURNT - OFFERING

The Burnt - Offering
The Peace of God be with you all:

1. The Burnt – Offering is a God commandment

Then stood up Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and his brethren the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and his brethren, and builded the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt-offerings thereon, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God (Ezra 3:2).

Saying above, Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou wouldest not, neither hadst pleasure therein (the which are offered according to the law (Hebrews 10:8).

This is the law of the burnt-offering, of the meal-offering, and of the sin-offering, and of the trespass-offering, and of the consecration, and of the sacrifice of peace-offerings (Leviticus 7:37).

2. The Burnt – Offering were not established for our fathers, It is for us

For I spoke not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt-offerings or sacrifices (Jeremiah 7:22).

Therefore we said, Let us now prepare to build us an altar, not for burnt-offering, nor for sacrifice: but it shall be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we may do the service of Jehovah before him with our burnt-offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace-offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no portion in Jehovah (Joshua 22:26,27).

3. The Burnt – Offering is a perpetual Law for the Israelites

Behold, I am about to build a house for the name of Jehovah my God, to dedicate it to him, and to burn before him incense of sweet spices, and for the continual showbread, and for the burnt-offerings morning and evening, on the sabbaths, and on the new moons, and on the set feasts of Jehovah our God. This is an ordinance forever to Israel (2 Chronicles 2:4).

For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the law, till all things be accomplished (Matthew 5:18).

4. Under estimating the Burnt – Offering is a very big sin.

And the sin of the young men was very great before Jehovah; for the men despised the offering of Jehovah. Wherefore kick ye at my sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation, and honorest thy sons above me, to make yourselves fat with the chiefest of all the offerings of Israel my people? (1 Samuel 2:17,29).

Thou hast not brought me of thy sheep for burnt-offerings; neither hast thou honored me with thy sacrifices. I have not burdened thee with offerings, nor wearied thee with frankincense. Thou hast bought me no sweet cane with money, neither hast thou filled me with the fat of thy sacrifices; but thou hast burdened me with thy sins, thou hast wearied me with thine iniquities (Isaiah 43:23,24).

5. The Son of Man has to offer the Burnt - Offering

Now after some years I came to bring alms to my nation, and offerings (Acts 24:17).

And he said unto me, Son of man, thus saith the Lord Jehovah: These are the ordinances of the altar in the day when they shall make it, to offer burnt-offerings thereon, and to sprinkle blood thereon (Ezekiel 43:18).

In that day shall there be an altar to Jehovah in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar at the border thereof to Jehovah (Isaiah 19:19).

Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant unto Jehovah, as in the days of old, and as in ancient years (Malachi 3:4).

6. The Burnt – Offering is not pleasing for the human beings

Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, But a body didst thou prepare for me; In whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hadst no pleasure (Hebrews 10:5,6).

None of his sins that he hath committed shall be remembered against him: he hath done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live (Ezekiel 33:16).

For I will be merciful to their iniquities, And their sins will I remember no more (Hebrews 8:12).

7. The Lamb of the Burnt – Offering represents to the Lord Jesus

On the morrow he seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold, the Lamb of God, that taketh away the sin of the world! (John 1:29).
But with precious blood, as of a lamb without spot, even the blood of Christ (1 Peter 1:19).

8. The Burnt – Offering is presented in 99 planets

It was necessary therefore that the copies of the things in the heavens should be cleansed with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these (Hebrews 9:23).

9. The Burnt – Offering was ordered by Jehovah God

Every sabbath day he shall set it in order before Jehovah continually; it is on the behalf of the children of Israel, an everlasting covenant (Leviticus 24:8).

To offer burnt-offerings unto Jehovah upon the altar of burnt-offering continually morning and evening, even according to all that is written in the law of Jehovah, which he commanded unto Israel (1 Chronicles 16:40).

Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples (Isaiah 56.7).

For in my holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, saith the Lord Jehovah, there shall all the house of Israel, all of them, serve me in the land: there will I accept them, and there will I require your offerings, and the first-fruits of your oblations, with all your holy things (Ezekiel 20:40).

10. The Burnt – Offering is for cleansing the person

And every one that hath this hope set on him purifieth himself, even as he is pure (1 John 3:3).

Come now, and let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool (Isaiah 1:18).

And he charged him to tell no man: but go thy way, and show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses commanded, for a testimony unto them (Luke 5:14).

11. The Lord Jesus ordered the Burnt - Offering

a) The Burnt – Offering is the will of God

We know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and do his will, him he heareth (John 9:31).

Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven (Matthew 7:21).

That ye may be accepted, ye shall offer a male without blemish, of the bullocks, of the sheep, or of the goats. And whosoever offereth a sacrifice of peace-offerings unto Jehovah to accomplish a vow, or for a freewill-offering, of the herd or of the flock, it shall be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein (Leviticus 22:19,21).

b) The Burnt – Offering is a present for God

How much then is a man of more value than a sheep! Wherefore it is lawful to do good on the sabbath day (Matthew 12:12).

And on the sabbath day two he-lambs a year old without blemish, and two tenth parts of an ephah of fine flour for a meal-offering, mingled with oil, and the drink-offering thereof: this is the burnt-offering of every sabbath, besides the continual burnt-offering, and the drink-offering thereof (Numbers 28:9,10).

c) The Burnt – Offering is a sweet savor for God

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God created to be received with thanksgiving by them that believe and know the truth (1 Timothy 4:3).

And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto Jehovah. And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire, for a sweet savor; all the fat is Jehovah's (Leviticus 3:11,16).

d) The Burnt – Offering is the bread of God

For the bread of God is that which cometh down out of heaven, and giveth life unto the world (John 6:33).

They shall be holy unto their God, and not profane the name of their God; for the offerings of Jehovah made by fire, the bread of their God, they do offer: therefore they shall be holy. Thou shalt sanctify him therefore; for he offereth the bread of thy God: he shall be holy unto thee: for I Jehovah, who sanctify you, am holy (Leviticus 21:6,8).

e) The Burnt - Offering is a pleasing smell for God

And whatsoever we ask we receive of him, because we keep his commandments and do the things that are pleasing in his sight (1 John 3:22).

Command the children of Israel, and say unto them, My oblation, my food for my offerings made by fire, of a sweet savor unto me, shall ye observe to offer unto me in their due season (Numbers 28:2).

Proving what is well-pleasing unto the Lord (Ephesian 5:10).

But I have all things, and abound: I am filled, having received from Epaphroditus the things that came from you, an odor of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, well-pleasing to God (Philippians 4:18).

f) The Burnt - Offering is the incense of God

I will offer unto thee burnt-offerings of fatlings, With the incense of rams; I will offer bullocks with goats. Selah (Psalms 66:15).

g) The Burnt - Offering is the justice of God

My little children, let no man lead you astray: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous (1 John 3:7).

Then will thou delight in the sacrifices of righteousness, In burnt-offering and in whole burnt-offering: Then will they offer bullocks upon thine altar (Psalms 51:19).

12. The Burnt - Offering is for several reasons:

And ye shall bear no sin by reason of it, when ye have heaved from it the best thereof: and ye shall not profane the holy things of the children of Israel, that ye die not (Numbers 18:32).

a) For sin
b) For the feats
c) For diseases
d) For thanks giving
e) For birthday
f) For actions
g) For cleansing
h) For being in his people
i) For preaching, etc.

13. Jesus Christ has to present the Burnt – Offering in his second coming
This is he of whom I said, after me cometh a man who is become before me: for he was before me. And I knew him not; but that he should be made manifest to Israel, for this cause came I baptizing in water (John 1:30,31).

¿Who is Israel?

And he shall go before his face in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to walk in the wisdom of the just; to make ready for the Lord a people prepared for him. Yea and thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Most High: For thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to make ready his ways; to give knowledge of salvation unto his people In the remission of their sins (Luke 1:17,76,77).

For every high priest, being taken from among men, is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins (Hebrews 5:1).

For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices: wherefore it is necessary that this high priest also have somewhat to offer (Hebrews 8:3).

Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days nor end of life, but made like unto the Son of God), abideth a priest continually (Hebrews 7:3).
